Primrose Hill Childrens Choir

Matthew Watts was brought up in Primrose Hill and still lives in the area.

After gaining a musical degree at Glasgow University he studied conducting and singing at Trinity College of Music, London, where he won the Ricordi Conducting Prize.

Since then he has studied conducting with Denise Ham from the Royal Academy and singing with Lyndon Van Der Pump from the Royal College.

Choirs that Matthew has conducted include the Glasgow University Chamber Choir, the professional choir of Ealing Abbey, the Schroders Choir in the City of London, the hundred-voice Reading Festival Chorus and the London Symphony Chorus in a workshop, and he ran learn-to-sing courses for Westminster Adult Education Service.

Matthew regularly works with orchestras, including The wonderful Harlequin Orchestra.

Matthew was a Choral Scholar in Glasgow University Chapel Choir and at St Martin-in-the-Fields Church, Trafalgar Square, and has sung with some of London's top professional church choirs, such as at St Bride's, Fleet Street.

He is a qualified singing and piano teacher.
